Jev saves her and decides it is time to tell her the truth. Again, she gets herself into trouble when she stumbles upon the factory that is housing Hank's Nephilim recruits. Nora decides to go to the factory again, assuming no one would suspect someone to come back so soon. Scott decides that he needs to lay low for a while. They don't get any information, but they do get into some trouble that they narrowly escape. Soon after, Scott ends up taking her to investigate a warehouse that he suspects is owned by the Black Hand. They make plans to keep in touch and to take down the Black Hand. He starts telling her about what really happened and what is currently going on. She ends up on the beach, where she runs into Scott. She accidently touches his wing scars and sees his memory of an archangel trapped by Hank. She only escapes the encounter because a guy named Jev rescues her. She stops at the wrong place at the wrong time and sees three fallen angels (Gabe, Dominic and Jeremiah) trying to get a Nephil that works at a gas station to swear fealty. Nora leaves and starts walking in search of a payphone to call Vee for a ride home.

Marcie asks for a necklace that Patch gave Nora. Marcie drags Nora to the bathroom with her and starts telling her about a mutual friend, Patch. She is forced to go to dinner with the two of them, but there is some drama when Marcie and her mother show up at the same restaurant. She soon finds out that her mother is dating Hank Millar, father of her high school rival, Marcie. She talks to her mom and Vee about what happened, but both seem to be leaving something out. Nora does the math and figures out that her memory loss spans back further than her kidnapping. That night, she finds a warning note on her pillow, but the paper is blank when she tells her mom about it. After some testing, she is permitted to go home with her mother. Detective Basso finds her and takes her to the hospital. Nora runs and realizes that there is a gap in her memory (she thinks it is April, but it is really September). He wants to turn her in to Hank for the reward that is being offered. She runs into a grounds keeper and he realizes who she is. She's not sure how she got there or what exactly is going on. Nora wakes up in the graveyard near her father's grave. Hank agrees to release her at the end of the summer. Patch also offers to let Hank rip out his wings if Hank releases Nora. Hank agrees that after Nora is release, Hank will wipe Nora's memories and stay away from her. Patch agrees to spy on the fallen angels for Hank. Prologue: Four days after Nora is kidnapped by her biological father, Hank, Patch and Hank are in the graveyard trying to strike up a deal.
